Baker from Finland

Hello,

I am Kati Hillukka. I have five daughters and my husband is The Pasture Farmer. We moved from Finland to Minnesota almost ten years ago. I tried to find rye bread for my family like that we were used to eating in my home country. No real rye bread was to be found anywhere, so I started baking my own bread using a 100’s year old recipe. The process involves only organic rye flour, sea salt and water. No yeast is used, instead the bread is made over several days using the natural fermentation process. My rye bread tasted so good to friends and relatives that I have started baking and selling my delicious sourdough rye bread for others as well.

In the summer of 2022, my bread can be also purchased at Farmer’s Markets in Minnesota. I'll let you know soon which Farmer’s Market I’m going to…
